the clock's run out of time
the hands are now in line
but one points left, the other right,
a decision again declined.
as time freezes. so do thoughts
but rages on the battles fought.
invisible soldiers offer constant reminders
that both answers could be naught.
onlookers do not comprehend all that is at stake
and the weight of all this time causes clocks to break.
but once it starts again they still wont understand,
for the other choice they would choose to take.
the tick aligned with a heart's beat,
it never looks back, it never does cheat,
it's melodic and patient, always moving forward
against all the times of defeat.
As the hands stretch out across the clock's face
it reminds me of the arms that were stretched to take my place.
the clock may stand still, but feet must always move
to the rhythm of His time, matching perfect pace.
